Guys, Marshall and Lilly are planning to have a baby!!!
They have decided to take a step further and stay together!!
The How I Met Your Mother stars Marshall (played by Jason Segel) and Lily (played by Alyson Hannigan) have been ‘married’ for 5 years, so it’s great news that they are now ready for a baby.
Hannigan, who is a mom in real life too, is quite excited that the producers have come up with this idea. She says that it will not only limit their times inside bars, but also give them time to spend together!
Segel is also excited about the idea and feels that this twist in the How I Met Your Mother episodes would be great! He said, “I think it’s great….I think it’s really neat that the first episode ended with us wondering if we would even stay together and now, five years later, we’re thinking about having a baby. It’s pretty cool to see how we’ve all grown up.”
The next time I watch How I Met Your Mother online, I think I will be expect quite a lot of fun, because it will be interesting to see how an experienced ‘mom’ and inexperienced ‘dad’ handle a new born!!
In a recent interview with GQ, ‘How I Met Your Mother‘ co-star Jason Segel said he plans to leave the show in three years to focus on other projects.
Segel’s contract with the hit comedy expires in 2013, he said, and he doesn’t plan to stick around to play bumbling married guy Marshall Eriksen one minute longer.
“I think after eight years, I’ll feel like I honorably did my commitment. It’s funny — it’s the greatest problem in the world to have. Jeez, I’m the luckiest guy in the world. But when your idol is Peter Sellers, playing one character for eight years isn’t what you’re trying to do,” he told the magazine.
Segel, who has more than six movies in development including the upcoming Muppets big screen revival, said he’s done about all he can do with the character of Marshall.
“I don’t really feel like I have that much more to offer with this character. Maybe if we got divorced or something, but that’s not gonna happen,” he added. “It’s gonna be some iteration of, like, my TV wife opens the fridge, and she’s like, “What happened to the birthday cake?” And I walk in with a little frosting here [points to corner of mouth] like, “What birthday cake?”
Segel also detailed a few dark ideas he pitched to producers for how to end ‘How I Met Your Mother.’ The first one has the show’s mysterious mother dying before Ted’s kids ever get to meet her. Another has Ted and his kids stuck in purgatory with Ted doomed to tell his story over and over again for eternity. And yet another … well, I’ll just let Segel explain:
“And then my other suggestion, which they never used, which I think would be so funny, is — it’s the future, right? I think in one of those scenes, they should open the window, and it should be, like, a post-apocalyptic wasteland outside. It should be like ‘I Am Legend.’ Horrible mutants.”
Ever since How I Met Your Mother
hinted on a failed Canadian variety show starring Alan Thicke and Cobie Smulders’s Robin Scherbatsky (or should I say Robin Sparkles) last season, fans have been wondering if and when the show will ever tap on the botched extravaganza. But Smulders tells TV Guide
that it really is going to happen.
“I don’t know when, but it looks like it’s finally coming,” says the How I Met Your Mother actress. “I talked to [creators and executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas]: ‘Are we doing a variety show?’ We are. Don’t you worry!”
The news is definitely something to look forward to for How I Met Your Mother fans who are fond of Robin Sparkles, Robin’s Canadian bubblegum pop alter ego during her teenage years. So far, fans have seen her music videos “Let’s Go ToThe Mall” and artistic follow-up” “Sandcastles in the Sand”–all of which have provided tons of comic relief on the show.
And though featuring Robin’s variety show on How I Met Your Mother involves big undertakings, Smulders seems up for the challenge.
“They have to write the song, we have to record the song, do the choreography, shoot the music video. Then we have to shoot the episode reference to the music video,” Smulders says. “I’m not doubting that having a variety show is going to be any less than that. I’m looking forward to it. And we haven’t seen Robin Sparkles in a while. It’s so much fun to do those shows,” she says.
As for Robin’s futile attempts at love–the latest of which involves her co-anchor Don, Smulders has no idea if her character will ever settle down but remains optimistic that a happy ending is in store for her.
“Maybe she’ll turn out to be a lesbian! That’s her doppelgänger. That’d be interesting for me to play — straight Robin, lesbian Robin, Robin Sparkles. Love, Loss will prepare me for it!” Smulders laughs. “I don’t know in what form Robin will find love, but hopefully it’ll be the right one. I don’t know if it’ll be Ted, Barney, Marshall or Lily — it can be anyone in our cast at this point because I make out with every single person! Listen, Robin is a slut! She gets around. Season 6, hopefully she closes her legs a little bit!”

That’s welcome news to fans, who have been waiting for one to come to fruition ever since the sitcom referenced a failed Canadian variety show starring Alan Thicke and Smulders’ Robin (during her bubblegum pop Robin Sparkles days) last November. Smulders, who says she’s been impatiently waiting too, thinks the idea fell to the wayside last season to focus on the time-jumping show’s big musical 100th episode.

The 28-year-old actress is also trying something different during her summer hiatus: theater. Smulders, who studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art three years ago, is appearing in the off-Broadway play Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which offers a nice change of pace for her.
“In the sitcom world, there’s so much room for mistakes. There’s the beauty where you can experiment, but there’s something great about theater where you’ve got one shot and however it’s going to be is how it’s going to be,” she says. “It’s been really fun because you do get to wear a lot of different hats [in this play] since we’re storytelling as different characters. It’s fun to switch it up and get into different head space from Robin and be, like, a schizophrenic for one night.”

Barney Stinson is the character played by Neil Patrick Harris in the hit sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.” He is a ladies man who spends most of his time at strip clubs or getting laid by a different woman every night. Now that he has a girlfriend he has sort of settled down, but his character, the “a different woman every night” guy is real. I know that person. I can’t name names but he is a friend of mine. We’ll call him Mick. This guy is Barney Stinson, any subject you try to talk to him about he turns to sex.
Me: “Man, I’m really worried about Global Warming.”
Mick: “Nah, it’ll be awesome dude, it just means chicks will have to shower more.”
He has sex all the time. He has girls that he can call and they’ll come and make it with him in his car while he is at work, and then leave, no questions asked.
But in real life, the real Barney Stinson is sort of creepy. He seems like an addict. He can’t seem to stop himself. He isn’t able to have real relationships because he gets bored so fast he can’t
maintain an erection. I’d like to see an episode of “How I Met Your Mother” where Barney is unable to be aroused with Robin because he can’t connect to her emotionally, freaks out, tries a support group for sex addicts, that doesn’t work, and then he gets drunk and wanders onto a freeway overpass and gets arrested for endangering himself. Knowing Neil Patrick Harris he would still find a way to make that whole downward spiral seem cute and quirky.
Marshall Eriksen, put a baby in my belly. – Lily. The universe is telling you to stick it to me real good. – Also Lily. A woman of such class, right? Naturally, this was Lily’s way of saying she wants to be pregnant by Marshall … a decision they came to after finally seeing doppelganger #5.
A major catalyst? The taxi driver doppelganger Barney … who not an actual doppelganger, but Barney masquerading as his own. Pretty funny. Meanwhile, Robin turns down her dream job in Chicago. She wanted to move there at first, but eventually turned it down. Presumably for Don. That’s why it hurt Robin so much when Don accepted the very same job offer after she turned it down. Robin definitely indicated this happened. In conclusion, Robin is staying in the city, Ted isn’t going to be blonde anymore, and if Barney stays unconscious he’s still working on the Baltics. Lily and Marshall will be trying to have a baby and while there are no cliffhangers holding us over until next season, you better believe we’ll be there.

“How I Met Your Mother” takes a different approach in promoting the upcoming episode by releasing the trailer of a faux movie which will be a major part of the episode’s story. Future Ted recalls the day he took a date (guest star Judy Greer) to see a new hit movie called “The Wedding Bride”. The trailer of the said movie is the one released this week as a promo.
Ted is shocked to learn the story is loosely based on his life, and that it was written by Tony, the man Stella left him for at the altar. In the fake movie, Malin Akerman stars as Stella, Jason Lewis as Tony and Chris Kattan as Ted. Future Ted said the so-called movie would hit theaters in May this year.
The “How I Met Your Mother” episode itself, which is titled “The Wedding Bride“, will air on Monday, May 17.
